Free download google map voices for android

When I open google maps, there is only a zoom in and out button. Does anyone know if it works on this version of phone. Suprised that this has not been mentioned already, but in the timesonline article re the release of the GMN they mentioned downloading the maps to your SD card. Quote: The system? So my question is can you? Also noticed someone mention that they did not like the voice for the sat nav only for some smart arse to simply reply, change it. I have a had a look and cant see how you can, so maybe said smart arse can enlighten us all. I am looking for a link to download the beta version of Google Maps Navigation and I can not find it at all.

I have a Hero and really want this. Does anyone know the minimum version of Android that the latest Google Maps with Navigation will work on? I can't find this on Google's website. I cant get google maps navigation to speak the route to me, or show me it on street view.

Infact, i cant get street view on normal google maps. I have just looked on the market and my google maps does not need an update. Can someone sugest why i cant get street view or an audio turn by turn description in navigation please? But I'm now in Germany for a few days and I don't really want to pay roaming rates.

So, I find that I can of course use the hotel wifi to plot the route. This can work but most of the time it doesn't. The problem is that the route is not downloaded at least not completely until the phone has a GPS fix. Usually this happens after I'm out of range of the wifi signal and so I have no route to navigate. Is there a way of downloading the route without needing the satellite fix to validate it?

This would make life so much simpler! I'm still curious about what potential lies ahead for Maps and Navigation. Will there be more options for the turn-by-turn voice character? The fembot that's there now sounds more synthetic than other GPS I've heard, and the voice sounds distorted with certain words. Sometime the maps search has been frustrating. I could only remember the street name for one destination.

I couldn't remember if it was "road", "street", "ave" etc. I kept trying to type in just the street name and maps would give me like one search result for a city on the other side of the world. When you look for a map of just 1 city than it will be a good one. The app works totaly offline and can tell you what is nearby. It even tells all about the atractions. Yes lol 10 downloads are more than enough. I've installed the app and it is trying to download same 1st map 7th times already. Got 3 out of 10 free downloads left though didn't get a single map yet ;. I tried Navfree on my Pantech Crossover and it crashed a lot usually when entering destination info and did not handle street addresses well When it did know a location, it worked great It is a very frustrating program, it doesn't have a simple 'find my location' feature.

Works with offline OpenStreet map with coverage for whole world. Not being able to nominate house numbers was the only significant limitation I found with MapFactor but there is at least one way of getting around it.

Use Google Earth to find the destination, go into Street View and position the cursor on the entrance to the destination and note the map reference in Decimal Degrees. Options may need to be changed to display the map reference in Decimal Degrees. This option might only be available on the Pro Version of Google Earth.

MapFactor can now be directed to the map reference rather than a street address. If you wish to keep the destination as a favourite, the map reference can be renamed to the street address. If you can't search for an address, it makes navigation pretty useless! There is either a built in shop or you can source your own. Yes disk storage is cheap but mobile storage is not yet. Copilot Live USA doesn't update their maps very often.

My house is two years old, with the surrounding development being over three years old, and it doesn't display any of the streets in my area. That's not unique to my area, though. Hey, I was wondering if you could use the maps downloaded in Mapdroyd in Mapfree by just moving it into the right folder. I thought because they both get their maps from the same site that they would likely be in the same format. This way you can download smaller sections of maps such as just Alberta and BC. I will try it and post back. You won't be able to interchange map files.
